How We Determine Commercial Landscape Pricing in Fort Worth, TX

Every mowing crew uses a standard 21" mower and a larger, time-saving tractor mower. The more areas that require the smaller mower, the more time it takes. For example, using a 52" tractor mower on a one-acre area of turf will take almost one hour to mow. The same amount of turf would take almost eight hours using the 21" mower. 

In our region of North Texas, we usually need to mow 36 times a year.

Edging and trimming services address the grass that grows around the edges of hardscapes, parking lots, and sidewalks as well as parts of the turf that the mowers can't reach, such as under fences. The amount of time spent on this task depends on your individual property.

Our Clean Site Promise requires our crews to leave your site looking clean and tidy. That means we blow the clippings off your sidewalks, patios, pool area, and other hardscapes. We estimate that it takes one person an hour to blow an area equal to an acre.

In Texas, applying fertilizers and herbicides on a commercial property requires registration through the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA). We must be registered with TDA and provide proof of liability financial responsibility in the amount of $100,000 property damage and $100,000 bodily injury per occurrence or a general aggregate at a minimum of $200,000 for each occurrence. The registration is renewed each year with continuing education requirements. 

We estimate that it takes one person just under four hours to complete a professional application on an acre of lawn area. This does not include the cost of the fertilizers.

We usually apply fertilizer and weed treatments four times per year.

Seasonal color around your Fort Worth property adds vibrancy and an enjoyable atmosphere. We estimate that it takes four hours for one person to remove and install a new flat of flowers, usually 18 plants per flat. For properties that install 100 flats of annual color, you can expect it to take 25 man hours. This does not include the cost of the flowers or the fertilizer that needs to be added.

This service is provided two to three times per year.

This is one of the most time-consuming maintenance tasks we undertake. It's not uncommon for a large commercial property, such as a hotel or shopping center, to have hundreds of shrubs. Each shrub needs to be individually trimmed so they are all somewhat equal in height and width. We estimate it takes an hour for one skilled person to trim six large shrubs or 11 medium-sized shrubs. Shrub trimming also involves raking and bagging the trimmings, plus the cost of disposal.

Irrigation systems are the number one users of water in Texas. We take irrigation system checks and water conservation very seriously. Your irrigation system is designed to ensure your plants and turf survive the hot summer days and remain healthy. It is more expensive to maintain lush, green turf, and in some municipalities, using that much water may not be possible.

A proper irrigation system check requires a licensed irrigator to check each zone, nozzle, rotor, and more. The licensed irrigator must have completed a thorough and rigorous training program and pass a test administered by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ). The license must be renewed every three years. 

We normally do a complete check of irrigation systems eight times per year.
